Working from Home?

Blog · July 28, 2020

Working from home? These days, many people are! Here are a few tips to maximize your productivity and minimize aches and pains as you get used to working in a new environment.⁣⁣

1) Maintain a schedule – try to keep a similar schedule as what you had when you went into the office. This will establish a routine and help you be more productive on a day-to-day basis. This also means taking regular breaks! ⁣⁣

2) Get dressed – getting out of your PJ’s will help you feel like you are ready for a day of work and will make you less likely to crawl back into bed.

⁣⁣3) Getting situated – pick a designated workspace that is quiet and free from distractions (as much as possible!). This will encourage you to maintain a routine and keep you focused during the day.⁣⁣

4) Modifying the space to fit your needs – a lot of our furniture at home can be comfortable but it’s not always ergonomic. If you are getting neck pain while working from home, try elevating your screen so that you are looking forward. Devices like laptops encourage us to look down, which can strain our neck muscles. Over time, this can be problematic – an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure!⁣
